Home

Summer rolled in hot and slow

We dressed the rooms up nice

The ground popped beneath our feet

Every time we came back home.

The strangeness came in waves

A closet full of no one’s clothes

A universe of bed between us

Every time we came back home.

Words that have no home these days

Are still worn into tired tongues

An imaginary somewhere else to go

Every time we came back home.
